Since the early 1980s, Jet-Hot coatings have been used in dozens of industries by both commercial and aftermarket customers. At the outset, Jet-Hot was largely focused on military applications. However, with the huge swell of interest in professional racing, car restoration projects and motorsports in general, demand from aftermarket industries for Jet-Hot coatings has significantly shaped our market focus.

Military-Grade Coatings

Jet-Hot first earned its wings on jet-fighter engines and submarine parts subjected to high temperatures, cyclical stress loads and corrosive environments. We supplied proprietary coatings used to protect parts on aircraft-carrier launch systems for the U.S. Navy and armored vehicles for the U.S. Army. We were also selected to work on several special projects for U.S. Army contractors, including an exhaust system coating for the STRYKER combat vehicle.

From the combat field to the race track

In time, our experience with heavy-duty military applications caused us to ponder the potential impact of our coatings on the heat management issues common to the automotive aftermarket. We did our homework and ultimately released Jet-Hot into the automotive industry. Within five years, Jet-Hot catapulted to the number one coating brand on the streets, at the shows and in the pits. This market demand greatly influenced Jet-Hot’s product mix, as car enthusiasts around the world gained an appreciation for our high performance coatings. In addition to providing industrial-grade coatings, we developed high-sheen and colorized applications that couple unparalleled protection with eye-catching finishes.

The Brand the Pros Trust

Gaining momentum from grassroots brand support in the 1990s, Jet-Hot became the only coating company to support racers on the track. Fifteen-time Funny Car Champion John Force recognized the safety Jet-Hot provides by reducing header-surface temperatures. His crew chiefs became big Jet-Hot advocates when they discovered our coatings allowed for quicker cool-down, enabling faster work on John’s car.

Aside from automotive, Jet-Hot has also made significant strides in other aftermarket applications. The Jet-Hot brand has gained a wide following among motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile and boat enthusiasts.

Brand Consolidation

In 2011 nCoat, High Performance Coatings and Jet-Hot were consolidated into Jet-Hot, High Performance Coatings. All three brands had been marketed separately, but over time had significant overlap in markets served. This move was made to address potential confusion and strengthen Jet-Hot’s brand identity and market position.

Jet-Hot relocated its headquarters to Burlington, North Carolina where plans are underway to build a showroom for scores of classic cars and street rods.
