What type of metals/alloys can be coated?
Just about any metal can be coated with the exception of copper, magnesium, zinc and pot metal. Our commercial customers are most often interested in Jet-Hot’s thermal management, moisture management and friction-reduction qualities.
Can parts be machined or non-machined before coating?
Jet Hot can coat machined parts, although the masking can be difficult with some designs to fully protect from overspray during the application. It is preferable for our customers to send the casting prior to machining, as critical areas are better protected. Jet-Hot coatings do not cause problems for later machining or cleaning operations.
How are coating applications evaluated for commercial applications?
If you are exploring the benefits of coating for your commercial application, we encourage you to contact a Jet-Hot engineer to discuss the possibilities. We will often conduct tests in a controlled environment to verify results. Click here for more information about Jet-Hot testing.
